Below is my Long Term review on the PicoStream wireless audio systems.
I received my Brand New DS918+ and moved the drives over. On reboot the system recognized the drives and automatically set the system up with the existing data. Smooth as silk transition to the new drive.
Well, got back to the office to find my NAS offline. After trouble shooting the system it appears that the motherboard has gone bad. Too much data that can’t be replaced since the NAS was supposed to be the one place that wouldn’t fail. So hopefully with a brand new one coming with a three year limited warranty I will be able to migrate the drives over. And again hopefully, the drives didn’t suffer damage when the board went down.
Okay, so I got through the winter….knock on wood. I’ve been very busy at my real job so I haven’t been posting anything really. Here’s a short video of me acting stupid.
So anyway, now that the weather is warming up I’ll get shooting outside again.
I went ahead and bought the next piece of kit, a Synology: DS918+ DiskStation with 12GB RAM, 32TB (4 x 8TB) Seagate Ironwolf NAS Drives and dual caching 256 GB SSD’s.
This unit will allow me to migrate a lot of services and separate storage onto one economical platform. The Synology management system will take over the rolls of VM storage, data storage and also my $99.00 a year Office365 subscription.
Secondary rolls are Plex storage/server, home files and what I’m looking forward to the most, automated offsite server backups from work to home office. Look for some upcoming videos on this incredible platform.
I recently received my new PicoGear wireless microphone set.
It’s incredible tech, clear audio and the smallest 2 mic wireless in the industry.
A new year is rapidly approaching and I’m currently working on the new site look and also on some new 360 content and video. Stay tuned for some neat stuff coming up!
